Online RN – BSN programs offer a flexible opportunity for registered nurses with a diploma or associate’s degree in nursing to advance their career while maintaining their personal and professional lives. Online programs are also ideal for the rurally located nurses or those that do not have a convenient campus location to attend, which is often the case in Alabama.

A baccalaureate education is an essential component for career mobility in the nursing field. Case management, community health, out patient, ER, OR, critical care, mental health and related positions in Alabama frequently require or prefer a BSN prepared nurse. The 2007 Advance Salary Survey for Nurses reports that registered nurses in Alabama with a baccalaureate education earned a slightly higher annual salary than did those with an associate’s degree in nursing.
