MSN and RN to MSN Programs in Idaho
According to a recent report released by the Idaho Nursing Workforce Advisory Council, not enough is being done to meet the demand for master’s educated nurse educators, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives and nurse anesthetists. The Idaho Department of Labor conducted a 6 month analysis that found through 2016 Idaho will need an additional 700 nurses with advanced nursing degrees or advanced practice certificates.
The demand for master’s educated nurses is strong in Idaho however, the state’s schools are not projected to be able to meet the demand. Of particular concern are nurse educators or nursing faculty that need a master’s degree to teach. The lack of teaching faculty impacts the supply of nurses completing registered nursing programs. Online RN to MSN and MSN programs could be a solution.
