According to the Maryland Board of Nursing and Maryland Code 10.27.07.03, certification to practice as a nurse practitioner in Maryland requires a current Maryland registered nursing license, completion of a master’s degree program with a nurse practitioner track that incorporated courses in Advanced Pharmacology, Advanced Pathophysiology and Advanced Assessment and Diagnostic Procedures and current national certification in the appropriate specialty.
