Duties as a practical nurse will vary depending upon where you are employed, but will almost always include tasks such as assisting with exams and procedures, administering medications, obtaining and documenting patient data, assisting in the development of patient care plans, and promoting the overall safety and wellness of patients. There is a range of LPN salaries in Missouri dependent upon location, experience, and place of employment. In order to become an LPN in Missouri, you must graduate from a practical nursing program approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing. Most programs are nine to twelve months long and require that you have a high school diploma or GED to apply. After graduating from an LPN program you must sit for the NCLEX-PN exam. You may practice as a graduate nurse for up to 90 days while waiting for the results of your exam. After you have been notified that you passed the NCLEX-PN exam, you may apply for licensure as an LPN in the state of Missouri.
